Looking for my hood replacement

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My concern was taken seriously. So far, there has been one follow-up, but not much progress has been made. My car has been in the shop since Jan. 15th. We were told 4 weeks ago that my hood was shipped. The body shop, the insurance agent, and GMC cannot get an update on where my hood is. I'm paying for a rental car out of pocket. This is getting horribly expensive.

Worst vehicle ever!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
GMC - Worst vehicle ever!
I purchased a 2017 GMC Yukon 9 months ago. At 125k miles the transmission, ABS and tracking system module and shocks have been replaced. I did buy a warranty and still have spent close to $5,000 in repairs on a vehicle that isnt worth its value. This is the worst vehicle ever and I will never purchase another GMC product!

Mechanic broke part and now there isn’t a part to fix

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Took our 2019 Acadia in for oil change, look at the transmission, fix passenger side mirror and look at air conditioning. The side mirror is an issue that was intermittently not working.

This is a known issue but no recall. They finally were able to fix when its no longer in warranty. They couldnt check the air conditioner because the day we took it in, it was cold (wtf)! Weve taken it multiple times for this and because its intermittent, they blew us off again.

Finally after over a month, we get a call that our call is ready. Go the turn in our loaner ( Buick encore), get the keys, and guess what?! Our car wouldnt even start! The mechanic said it was our battery!

Nope! Not it! Then it comes out that a mechanic broke a part! Plus the in/out mileage was off by 1!

They were supposed to drive the vehicle at least 25 miles to check transmission! They gave us back with little 4 cylinder car. So weve been dealing with the dealership and gmc customer service for almost 3 months with no clue when a part would be available! The dealership asked if they could put a used part in, and that would be the permanent fix.

No way! And we cant even get them to tell us exactly which part they need. It keeps changing. Then to help our pain, customer service representative offered to get us some gmc points!

What a joke. Were not even financed through gmc.

Im not spending anything else with them.

So who to complain to next? I just want my car fixed.

Cons:
  • Too many to add

Preferred solution: Honesty! My car fixed. Car payment for every month that I’m not able to drive my car and a loaner that is at my car level. I hate 4 cylinders!

User's recommendation: Run, don’t walk away from GMC! Service department will likely lie to you. This is why dealerships have a bad reputation!

They don't know how to repair their own cars!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We held off on writing this review because we didnt want it to be colored by wild emotions. But we are both feeling so taken advantage of that I think its time to share our experience.

After spending a long 12-hour day driving from New York to Ohio we noticed a problem with our GMC Sierra truck and knew that it was something that needed to be handled by a professional.

With a quick google search we found Perrysburg Automall and called to see if we could get an appointment and he (John E.) said come on in.

We pulled in on Wednesday at noon and crossed our fingers that it wouldnt be a big issue and wed be on our way soon. A mechanic took a look and decided that it must have been bad DEF and suggested that we would need to have the DEF tank dropped and drained at a cost of $600. That was not the fix and on Thursday he said that we needed to replace a NOx sensor, at a cost of $700. That also did not solve the problem.

On Friday the service manager said that they had reached out to GM tech support and were waiting for feedback from them.

I asked if their mechanics ever worked on Saturdays. He replied sometimes, but I found out that he did not come in that Saturday to work on our car. Until this point we were stranded in our travel trailer in the parking lot of the dealership when it occurred to us that most dealerships offer a loaner car when your vehicle is in for servicing, so we asked a

nd we were able to have a loaner car. So glad that we asked because it was not offered.

On Monday the dealership heard back from GM tech support who suggested that we would need to replace the diesel particulate filter at a cost of approximately $3000.

They also mentioned that the part would be hard to find as their initial search revealed nothing. The service manager said he would be back in touch with us by Thursday, either way. On Wednesday my husband called to check in with John. No luck, and it may actually take two weeks to get the part.

At this point we were waiting for an entire week.

When we got this bit of news, we decided to call customer service at GM. It doesnt make any sense to us that a car manufacturing company would not be able to help find a needed part to make a repair to one of their own vehicles. The customer service department was not able to help us find the part either. That evening we were telling the tale of our bad luck to the campground supervisor and she mentioned that there were great diesel mechanics in a nearby town called Findlay.

The next day we called two different car dealers in the Findlay area asking for their help to find the needed part. One of them gave us the name of a dealer that was quite helpful and gave us the number for another dealer to try. We called this dealer and were very pleased to find that they had one in stock. We got all the details and planned to drive right there to pick it up.

My husband called John back to tell him we found the part and we would go pick it up in our loaner truck, John responded by saying the dealership didnt like their loaner vehicles going on long trips, it was an hour each way! When I called John, he said he found the part! He did not, I found the part! Its not a game and we were both quite disheartened that John found it necessary to lie about the situation.

The part was in hand for the mechanic to get it all repaired and by 11:30 Friday morning it was complete.

Unfortunately, the service manager was not working that day so we wouldnt see him, but he had our keys and paperwork so we had to wait for him to drop them off at the dealership. We were told to come in at 2:00. Amazing that even after waiting 10 days for our repair to be completed the service manager still needed to hold us up by making us wait. And why were the keys not at the dealership in the first place?

The cashier asked when we paid our invoice if we would like to sign up for the GM Rewards program. We figured yes since we will need a new car sooner rather than later. Even though we took the time and gave all of our information, thought the acts of the cashier, we were never enrolled in the program.

John had told us that since those other repairs had been made and not been the actual issue that he would work with us on the price of the repairs in total. When we went to retrieve our car and pay the bill there was no such allowance.

In addition, there was a $400 core charge added to the bill but not cancelled out with the expectation of returning the bad part. We only knew about this because we had found the part and that dealer had mentioned it to us.

To add insult to injury we left the dealership with a bolt stuck in one of the truck tires that needed to be removed and repaired.

In addition, even though there was a car wash at the back of the dealership our car came back to us filthy dirty.

We have been speaking to a customer service representative named Troy who has been very friendly and understanding but unable to offer any type of good will. This has been one of the worst experiences of our lives!

Car not fixed but money spent

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Hello my name is Carlisa Ross and I took my Yukon Xl in to sierra Chevrolet Jackson Tn to be serviced they had my car for a month and I paid close to 1700 to get my car back for my car to still be doing the same thing I brought it in for. In turns when I picked it up I still had to turn around and take it back and I was told the ppl for the engine dont know nothing about transmissions so the guy drove my car and said it feels like the transmission my whole thing is did they not drive it and see.

I really feel like something should be done cause this is not right at all.

Im starting to think its because Im a woman and dont really know much but its not adding up to me especially then saying they drove it and my car doesnt even want to get past 30 without the RPM going all the way up. Something has to be done.

Tailgate automatically deployed

GMC - Tailgate automatically deployed
Driving home from work the other day at some point my tailgate on my new 2024 gmc 2500 at4 deployed and $3000 in fishing poles flew out on the highway. There was no indication it was open nor did I hit the button . Either gm didnt put an indicator on like when your door is open or its defective. Either way paying over $80 k for a truck with issues like this makes me want to buy a ford but Ive had 2 generations of family work for gm so I try to stay loyal to there brand but enough is enough.
